AlpCheck2, which stands for “Alpine Mobility Check – Step 2”, is a project co-funded by the Alpine Space Programme in the framework of Territorial Cooperation 2007-2013. The Project originates from the effective experience of Alpcheck, a strategic project carried out within the programming period 2000-2006. It aims at creating an innovative transport decision support tool, new evaluation methodologies and new technologies that will be delivered to the Alpine Community.
Destination, which stands for (DangErous tranSport To New PrevenTive Instruments), is a strategic project totally funded by the Programma operativo transfrontaliero Italia-Svizzera 2007-2013 (Operative transnational program Italy-Switzerland 2007-2013). The project aims at building a tool for the monitoring, the acquisition and the analysis of data concerning the Dangerous Goods transport by means of the creation of an operative tool that will be used buy the private and public bodies participating to the project. The tool is expected to help in all the phases realated to the Dangerous Goods transport (planning, transport, emergency management).
The conference has been the occasion to promote synergies between the two projects and to inform the public about the opportunities offered by the mentioned tools. In fact, the results of the two projects will be delivered to the Community and they are expected to contribute to improve competitiveness and quality of life of Alpine territories.
