The emotions and sensorial hints recalling a new vision of the Alps
When is it open: see "for further information" section at the bottom of the page
What's not to be missed: the eagle in flight and the foundation of the great mountains
Where is it: The Municipality of Bard
Why?...Because it's worth it: a hyper-suggestive journey into the evolution of the Alps
This journey lets you discover and live the Alps using your 5 senses, an unusual journey that illustrates the foundation and evolution of the Alps. The journey begins with an ascent to the summits, by projecting images of highland scenery, while listening to the "mountain symphony". Touch the altitude: the introduction is an inviting video by A. Linke that creates hints of vision and sound from the Alpine huts, tunnels, slopes and high-tech skiers. See the passing seasons: with clips, 3D models, short films and touch screens you can observe the climate, the short
highland seasons, the plants and the tenacious inhabitants of the mountains. Fly like an eagle: A 3D video gives visitors wings to fly: a breathtaking flight, from the summit of Mount Blanc, over the picturesque landscape of Valle d'Aosta, among glaciers, waterfalls and castles, until you glide over the fortress in Bard. Walk on the Tethys Ocean: the geography room has an interactive map which guides you through a "walk" on the Alps; the most famous summits are represented in the orogeny room, a voyage back in time, among the lava explosions and marine
backwater. Dance in a carnival of voice and colour: the stable, the parlour and the school recall Alpine civilisation and the culture linked to work, the mill and the mine. Conquer the summit: a journey into the romantic experience of nineteenth-century mountaineers, followed by ski tourists. A multimedia tale: the voices of various ''testimonies'' discuss a themed section in each room.
