Valsaverenche Visitor Centre (P.N.G.P.)
Multimedia showcase dedicated to predators, with the Lynx as protagonist
The Valsavarenche
Visitor Centre
is dedicated to the predators that inhabit the Gran Paradiso National Park and to the characteristic aspects of their lives, distribution and survival. The visit is centred around the Lynx, presented via an analysis of its rapid extinction in Europe and of its reappearance, due to the slow and progressive recolonisation. How important are a predator's senses in its daily and , vital search for food ? What impact does the presence of the Lynx have on the territorial
distribution of the chamois in the Gran Paradiso National Park ? These are justsome of the question that we attempt to providecompleteand detailed answers to through a visit to the Centre, by means of sounds and images to guide the visitorin his discovery
ofthe biology of the Park's predators. The exhibition building also houses 4 dioramas that propose the reconstruction of the natural environments of the Valsavarenche, inhabited and (and cohabited) by small and large predators alike and by the potential prey. During opening
hours, the Centre is looked after by a Park Guide who is able to provide competent and detailed information , in answer to your questions. Park Visitor centres are managed by the
Fondation Grand Paradis
, a body whose objective is the valorisation of naturalistic and cultural tourism on the Val d'Aosta side of the
Gran Paradiso National Park
.
