Ski mountaineering is a sporting activity thatoriginated on the Alps around the end of the XX century. As the name suggests, it is an activity that combines the characteristics of Alpine skiing with other activities deriving from mountaineering. Since the onset of ski mountaineering, excursionists have had access to areas that were previously precluded, due to the excessive number of environmental obstacles. Like other winter activities, this activity, has recorded, an ever-growing, numberof

enthusiasts over the last few years. Ski mountaineering allows you to move around the winter mountain environment or, at, high altitudes, using especially adapted skis for the snow-covered trails, , with specific fasteners to allow for an upward walk and with anti-slip systems (seal skins); in descent, the techniques of off-piste skiing are used.
