Heliskiing

A descent that really commences....from the clouds

Flying in a helicopter is already an exciting experience in itself, when combined with the excitement of an off-slope descent on crystal clear snow, it becomes a unique union: Heliskiing. Valle d'Aosta is the only region in Italy where it is possible to practisethis sport, thanks to the enactment of a special law , that strictly regulates this activity on well defined routes; with 180 guides and fabulous itineraries, it therefore

represents one of the best destinations in the world for this activity. Skiing using a helicopter as a ski-lift is undoubtedly an unforgettable experience, especially if it takes place within an uncontaminated environment of rare beauty, like that offered by the helibases of Valgrisenche, Courmayeur, Gressoney-La-Trinité, La Thuile and Breuil-Cervinia. You can only engage in heliskiing

in the company of alpine guides, or ski instructors in the case of routes that are not considered difficult from an alpinistic point of view. Obviously it is vitally important to be a good skier ; and a group of 4 people is the ideal solution for any descent. The period in which it is possible to engage in this activity goes from 20 December to 15 May.
