Sightseeing helicopter flights - Unforgettable excursions through the mountains
Created in 1936, after airplanes, helicopters are the most widespread category of aircraft; their use for sightseeing, once prohibitive due to the cost, is currently "affordable" - especially for short flights - for those who desire an unforgettable experience in Valle d'Aosta, a region which, by vocation, projects its profiles to the sky along the snow-covered lines and features of the highest mountains.
Helicopter flights are unique due to their vertical take-off and landing, possibility to fly backward and "in-flight hovering", i.e. the possibility of a stabilised stop in a fixed point - like a hook
hanging in the sky - where you can look at nearby sights and photographic "targets" in a seemingly immobile phase reminiscent of the flight of dragonflies, the biological precursor of this flying machine.
The sightseeing flights cross our skies along specific flight paths, amidst peaks, castles and alpine scenery. The proposed tours include: Roman Aosta and the castles of Quart and
Fénis
; Roman Aosta and the castles of Aymavilles,
Sarre
and Saint-Pierre; Gran S.Bernardo pass , Mont Velan, Grand Combin and Conca di By; tours of the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa, Mont Blanc and combined tour of all the peaks and castles.
Â
The helicopter uses a high-performance, safe, tested turbine single-engine; it can reach a cruising speed higher than 260 km/h with almost 1,000 km of autonomy. It holds up to 7 passengers in a spacious, comfortable cabin which can be easily re-arranged based on need, due to the absence of complicated internal structures.
