(ANSAmed) - TURIN, OCTOBER 24 - The euroregion Alps-Mediterranean is ready to launch a series of tourism packages with standard offers for the five regions involved: Piemonte, Liguria, Valle d'Aosta, Paca (Provence Alps Cote d'Azur) ad Rhone Alpes. One of the trends will be in connection with the regions' typical food and wine traditions. This is what the Salone del Gusto (Taste Show), and the three councillors for tourism for the three Italian regions, Margharita Bozzano (Liguria), Aurelio Marguerettaz (Valle d'Aosta) and Giuliana Manica (Piemeonte) explained.
"In the coming months we will organise a workshop to determine offers and meet demand - councillor Bozzano said - we want to make ourselves known both inside the euroregione and in more distant markets". Giuliana Manica reminded that food and wine related tourism produces 14 billion euros in revenue every year, 3.8 in Europe, 1.2 in Italy. "In Piemonte - she added - from 2004 to 2006 it went up 20.9%". "Promoting surrounding territories - Marguerettaz affirmed - doesn't create competition, it produces an increase in offer and demand: tourist exchange inside Alpi-Med is already excellent, now it's time to focus on the surrounding area".
