(ANSA) - Aosta, July 24 - The revenue of Italian gambling company Casino de la Vallee Spa, based in the town of Saint-Vincent in the northern Italian region of Valle d'Aosta, fell by 11.7 pct on the year to 6.5 mln euro ($10.2 mln) in the first six months of 2008, Augusto Rollandin, president of the region, announced.
The revenue from American games fell to 838,768 euro ($1.3 mln), down by 5.72 pct on the year in the first half of 2008, despite the increase in revenue from Craps and Baccarat, also called Punto Banco. Casinòs revenue from Craps went up by 34.97 pct and from Punto Banco rose by 22.72 pct. The company's revenue from mixed games of poker stood at 25,651 euro ($40,273), a fall of 5.66 pct. Fruit machines revenue dropped by 16.84 pct to 4.8 mln euro ($7.5 mln).
The fall in revenue was 74 pct due to the decrease in revenue from fruit machines, Rollandin said.
The number of customers of Casino registered a drop of 26,013. A total 274,371 customers visited Casino between January and June 2008, compared to the 300,384 customers in the same period of 2007. Casino de la Vallee is 99 pct controlled by the region of Valle d'Aosta and the remaining 1.0 pct is held by the municipal authority of Saint Vincent.
